Our story
Where quality meets art
Sajawat is a small workshop in Sindh making embroidered clothes, and the phone cases that came out of the same thread box. Everything is finished by hand, and if the size on the chart is not your size, we will stitch it to yours.

The work is in the few inches nobody can look away from
A Sindhi shirt is judged at the throat. The yoke is where a maker shows what they can do, and it is where most of the hours go, and the cloth around it costs a fraction of what the thread and the time cost.
We work the same way on everything, whether it is a five-thousand rupee suit or a phone case. Same hands, same thread box, same standard for what counts as finished.
It also means no two pieces are identical. A motif may sit a few millimetres from where it sits in the photograph. That is the signature of handwork, not a fault in it.
What we work with
Four things do almost all the work
- Hand embroidery
- Necklines, cuffs and yokes worked stitch by stitch. A heavily embroidered kurti neckline is a full day's work on its own.
- Mirror work
- Small glass discs anchored in their own ring of thread, the technique Sindh and Balochistan are known for, and the reason a piece catches light as you move.
- Printed cotton lawn
- Light enough for the heat, dense enough to hold embroidery without puckering. Almost everything we cut starts here.
- Sindhi motifs
- The eight-pointed star, the tree of life, the stepped border. Drawn from ajrak and kashi tilework, and stitched rather than block-printed.
How we work
Two ways to buy, and what each one is honestly good for
Ready to wear
- Everything on this site is in stock in S, M, L and XL.
- Orders leave the workshop in one to two working days.
- Exchangeable within seven days if it is unworn with its tags on.
- Best if you are close to a standard size and happy with a relaxed fit.
Made to measure
- Any piece, in your measurements and the colour you want.
- Two to three weeks, longer where the embroidery is heavy.
- A standard size change costs nothing extra; changes to the cut are quoted before we start.
- It cannot be returned, because it fits nobody else, so we confirm every number with you in writing first.
